Takeshi - December 13, 1997

Yesterday we played in the morning and Takeshi got all the letter sounds right, even the G. I decided to do the next step which was learning to put the sounds together - which was a mistake. The 1st words to learn are the "at" words. Takeshi already knows "at" so I thought this would be easy. I got out our train and Takeshi didn't understand sounding out words. I could see he was frustrated and NOT INTERESTED. So then I tried all his favorite games with the "at" words, but he didn't want to play. I wanted to just keep pushing him until he "got" it, but I knew that he didn't want to and pushing would just make it worse. So we stopped for the night and played toys.
