Word Family Game with Paint Chips!

I haven't made this game yet, but it is worth posting!! I saw this Paint Chips Word Family Game on Chasing Cheerios, who found it on The Snail's Trail. What a great idea!

How to Teach Your Child to Read!

My hope is that this blog will be helpful to someone who wants to teach their child to read (or letters, colors, shapes, numbers or math). If you find any mistakes or items that aren't clear, please let me know. I would love the feedback!

I have everything filed in an easy manner (hopefully) for searching. Here are the different items I have.

Basics - Includes: How to Teach, Instructions, Our Daily Plan, Games Overview & Whole Words vs. Phonics.

Useful Things to Have - Things that make teaching reading a lot of fun!

Games - Detailed explanations of the games we played to teach reading, shapes, colors, numbers, etc. All games can be adapted to what you are currently teaching.

Books - Reviews on helpful books that I've read.

DVD/Videos - The fun things we watched that helped learn how to read.

Downloads - Free downloads for you - nothing fancy. They learned too fast for me to create anything detailed. Plus, I'm just not that talented.

Takeshi (1997-1998) - All of Takeshi's daily journal entries for teaching him how to read.

Ernest (2001) - All (three) of Ernest's daily journal entries.

Hannah (2007-2009) - All of Hannah's daily journal entries (hopefully updated daily - as she is currently learning how to read)

I also have the labels on my sidebar for easy reference.
